Two "direct hits" on disease
Nautile contains two active ingredients: Cymoxanil (50 g/kg) and mancozeb (640 g/Kg) in a water dispersible granule formulation.
Cymoxanil
Cymoxanil is the key - with both translaminar and penetrant qualities, cymoxanil gives Nautile unsurpassed curative activity against Late blight and Downy mildew. Cymoxanil is a member of the acetamid group, uniquely different from any currently available fungicide.
Trials confirm Nautile has strong curative action for at least 24 to 48 hours after infection. Cymoxanil also has short protectant qualities to add to the Mancozeb preventative activity.
Mancozeb
Mancozeb has excellent forward protection and a proven performer in NZ horticulture.
Getting the best out of Nautile
Early, Mild or Late Season
Use Nautile as soon as a disease event occurs and before the first symptoms.
The optimum approach is to use a disease monitoring service and apply within 24 to 48 hours of infection taking place but BEFORE disease is apparent in the crop.
Be fully armed
Keep a pack of Nautile in the shed to have on hand when disease strikes. If disease pressure is high, use 2 applications of Nautile back to back at close intervals to stop disease in its tracks.
Application guidelines (read the label before use)
| Crop | Disease | Rate/Ha | Critical comments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Onions | Downy Mildew | 2.2-3.3 Kg | Apply at 7 to 10 day intervals, using the higher rate under higher disease pressure. Use immediately after a disease infection period (within 24 to 48 hours). Do not use more than 3 times in succession or more than 5 times per season. Adjuvant required (see below) |
| Potatoes | Late Blight | 2.0-2.3 Kg |
Compatibility
Nautile is compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides.
Water Rates
Good coverage is essential for optimum disease control. When applying Nautile in 300 Ltr water per hectare or less, always use Du-Wett® or Bond Xtra® low water volume adjuvant systems to achieve best level of coverage. In water volumes above 300 Ltr/Ha Bond is recommended. Rainfast Bond and Bond Xtra are best when irrigation or rainfall soon after application is expected.
Withholding Period
14 days. Nautile has a 14 day withholding period on both Onions and Potatoes.
